The Services Platforms and Debug Tools team is part of the PowerVR software graphics group and interfaces with many other teams, including other driver teams, hardware development teams and research teams. Be part of a team that is first port of call for customer issue debug and platform bring-up. You can expect to acquire a wide range of GPU driver development and OS integration skills and have key involvement in driver road-map feature design and development. You may also be tasked with design and development of the driver-side tooling infrastructure, enabling sophisticated in house tools to be utilised for analysing and optimising the driver call stack.

You will

  • Perform investigative debug work involving customer platforms, software simulators, and internal platforms
  • Assist the customer engineering group with customer issues, and integrating and porting our drivers to new SoCs, with an opportunity to travel to customers sites on occasion
  • Take responsibility for one or more key areas of the driver, implementing the forward looking driver feature roadmap
  • Have the opportunity to contribute to driver tooling, with the potential for code ownership and responsibility for key areas of our driver related tooling infrastructure.
  • Form part of the team of engineers that drive the PowerVR Driver Development Kit release cycle to completion at regular intervals

You have

  • Well-honed C programming skills
  • A solid understanding of Linux
  • An understanding of computer system architectures
  • The ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team
  • The ability to understand and communicate complex ideas
  • Confidence in your own abilities

You might also have

  • A good understanding of Android or other OS’s
  • Some kernel mode, assembly, or bare metal programming experience
  • Some scripting experience (Perl, Python)
